Release of the Fifth Statewide HAI Report

In 2006, the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) supported and the Tennessee General Assembly passed a law directing the Tennessee Department of Health to begin collecting and reporting data related to the frequency of central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) in hospital intensive care units (ICU).

This state report, scheduled to be released mid June, represents data from Jan. 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011. The report will include hospital-specific data. A preview draft was sent to your hospital's infection control practitioner.

The Tennessee Hospital Association hosted a free webinar explaining the state's reporting format and comparisons lead by Marion Kainer, MD.
